The Cherubim and Seraphim (C&S) Unification Churchon Monday said 151 of its members abducted in Kaduna State are still in captivity, calling on the Federal Government to intensify efforts to secure their release.
The church said the victims were among its members abducted at Wali, Kaduna State, on January 18.
The Head of the Cherubim and Seraphim Unification Church, Emmanuel Abiodun Adewale-Alogbo, disclosed this at a news conference held at Maba, near Lagos, on Monday.
The briefing was convened to announce activities lined up for the church’s 2026 annual conference, themed “An Unhidden City,” scheduled to commence on Thursday in Lagos.
Adewale-Alogbo said the conference would serve as a period of reflection, renewal and recommitment to the church’s spiritual mandate.
According to him, the theme highlights the need to eliminate division and promote unity, restoration and moral values in Nigeria.
“The conference will provide both spiritual direction and practical guidance for the Church and the nation at large,” he said.
He added that the programme would feature activities focused on spiritual growth, leadership development, youth engagement, nation-building and social responsibility.
“It will emphasise teachings on faith, righteousness, servant leadership, accountability and integrity,” Adewale-Alogbo stated.
The church leader expressed concern over the loss of innocent lives and the displacement of families resulting from insurgency and insecurity across the country.
While commending the Federal Government for its ongoing efforts to address security challenges, he urged authorities to intensify actions aimed at ending the menace and ensuring the safe return of those in captivity.
