A member of the House of Representatives, Daniel Amos, has raised an alarm over the abduction of 15 farmers in Ungwan Nungu, Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State, urging security agencies to immediately launch a coordinated rescue operation.
The farmers were abducted on Saturday, November 29, 2025, while returning home from their farms, an incident that has heightened tension across the community as families anxiously await news of their loved ones.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Amos, who represents the Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency, condemned the attack, describing it as “cruel, senseless and deeply regrettable.” He said the abduction once again highlights the worsening insecurity plaguing rural communities in the state.
“Our people deserve to live without fear. Targeting peaceful, hardworking community members is unacceptable and must not be tolerated under any circumstance,” the lawmaker said.
Amos appealed to residents of Ungwan Nungu and neighbouring communities to remain calm and avoid actions that could endanger the abducted farmers. He also urged them to support ongoing security efforts through vigilance and cooperation with law enforcement agencies.
Calling for a coordinated security response, Amos said security operatives must deploy every available tool to track down the perpetrators and ensure the victims’ safe return.
“I call on the security agencies to leave no stone unturned in the search for the abducted persons. We expect intensified surveillance, intelligence-driven operations and the prompt arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators,” he stated.
The lawmaker expressed solidarity with the affected families, assuring them that efforts were underway to secure the release of the victims.
“All of us feel the pain of the families. We will continue to push for every necessary action until the victims are safely reunited with their loved ones,” he added.
Amos reaffirmed his commitment to the safety and well-being of the people of Sanga and Jema’a, stressing that communities must not lose hope despite the growing security challenges.
