As part of efforts to promote sustainable housing and enhance the management of government-owned estates, the Lagos State Ministry of Housing has concluded a two-day in-house training for its Monitoring and Compliance Officers.
The training, themed “Enhancing Effective Monitoring of State Housing Estates,” was designed to reinforce adherence to housing policies, improve service delivery, and promote orderly estate management across the state.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Honourable Commissioner for Housing, Hon. Moruf Akinderu-Fatai, reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to sustainable housing solutions for all Lagosians.
He noted that efficient monitoring and compliance systems are vital to maintaining the integrity and livability of state-owned estates.
Also addressing participants, the Permanent Secretary, Engr. Abdulhafis Toriola, emphasized the importance of continuous capacity building in equipping officers with the skills required to enforce regulations and support the Ministry’s housing objectives.
The training covered key areas including operational procedures, enforcement strategies, estate maintenance, and resident engagement.
It also aimed to promote greater policy adherence, improve the quality of life within estates, and ensure effective management of state housing assets.
